The demand for hydrogen and the associated logistics are increasing

We analyze a sustainable gas network for hydrogen from different perspectives:

How will demand develop? Which expansion plans have already been decided? What are the technical difficulties? What has to happen to the gas network in order to get involved in the future? How does the network work economically for the network operator?

Fossil fuels will gradually disappear from the German energy market and are to be replaced by hydrogen from renewable energy sources. National and European hydrogen strategies speak a common language and the first projects are already being implemented by politics and business.

With increasing demand, not only will large industrial consumers consume more hydrogen, but smaller customers such as hydrogen filling stations, production facilities, logistics centers, etc. will also be added. This means that, in addition to the significant increase in demand, a broadening of the area must also be managed logistically. A sustainable gas network for hydrogen can make an important contribution here.

Last but not least, hydrogen will play less of a role in thermal energy utilization than its value as a process gas will continue to increase. In our analysis you can find out what requirements are associated with this and what this has to do with the gas network.

High-purity hydrogen – directly from the gas network

The SIQENS technology separates impurities and hydrogen in fuel cell quality directly at the point of consumption. Due to the low energy consumption, the modular and easily scalable system is an economical solution, especially for decentralized applications.
