SIQENS is entering the Polish market with the support of the Renewable Energy Solutions Programme (RES Programme). By winter 2027, we will have implemented a comprehensive market development programme – with trade fair appearances, information material and targeted partnerships.
Our goal: to establish SIQENS fuel cell technology as a reliable, low-maintenance energy solution for critical infrastructure in Poland. The focus is on three market segments in which off-grid and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) are crucial: traffic monitoring, telecommunications and security technology.
Poland is investing heavily in expanding its infrastructure. EU funding programmes, digitisation initiatives and new security requirements are creating a growing demand for reliable off-grid energy solutions. The U Network and Information Systems (Directive 2016/1148 Network and Information Systems (Directive – 2016/1148 – EN – EUR-Lex) in particular is a driving force for the region.
Traffic monitoring: The expansion of intelligent transport systems is progressing. New monitoring and control systems as well as roadside units require off-grid power supply. Many of these locations are outside the power grid or only in temporary use.
Telecommunications: The rollout of 5G and the modernisation of public authority radio networks (in the context of the National Cybersecurity System Act (KSC)) require highly available, off-grid and UPS solutions. Network operators are under pressure to meet ESG criteria and replace diesel generators.
Security & border surveillance: EU programmes such as EUROSUR and Frontex promote modern surveillance systems. At the same time, there is a growing demand for defence and security technology. These require quiet, low-maintenance and climate-resistant energy supplies – often in locations that are difficult to access and subject to extreme weather conditions.

SIQENS fuel cell technology offers decisive advantages for the Polish market – developed and tested under real operating conditions:
Climate resistance: Reliable operation at -20°C to +50°C. Over 3,000 operating hours tested under extreme conditions. Polish winters are not a problem – our systems start up in less than 45 minutes, even at -20°C.
OPEX reduction: Significantly lower operating costs compared to diesel generators. Less fuel, less maintenance, longer service intervals.
Low maintenance: 70% fewer maintenance cycles than conventional systems. Critical for hard-to-reach locations where service trips are expensive and weather-dependent. Longer autonomy means fewer deployments.
Low emission & quiet: Less than 45 dB noise level at 7m distance. EU Stage V compliant. ESG compliant. Important for applications in residential areas and in tenders with sustainability and safety criteria.
Quick installation: Plug and play in a few hours. No complex infrastructure required. 24V / 48V DC standard – direct integration into existing systems and hybridization with wind and solar possible.

Far Data is our strategic partner and reference customer in Poland. It is a company based in Krakow that specializes in environmental monitoring systems and measurement technologies. It develops tools to capture parameters such as air quality, noise, weather conditions, pollution, and traffic data to support sustainability and smart city initiatives.
Key applications
Far Data offers solutions such as intelligent traffic harmonization using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and radar sensors to measure travel times and reduce congestion. Projects include environmental monitoring for cities such as Tarnów and noise systems at Warsaw’s Chopin Airport.
The initial situation:
The solution:
SIQENS Ecoport 800 as an off-grid and UPS system, integrated into specially developed trailers for mobile operations along motorways.
The measurable results after 18 months:
✅ High reduction in operating costs
✅ 99.9% availability – even at -20°C in the Polish winter
✅ 70% fewer maintenance cycles – fewer service trips to remote locations
As part of the RES project Poland, Far Data will act as a multiplier and partner together with SIQENS in Poland – with reference visits and joint marketing activities.

SIQENS, together with Far Data, wants to demonstrate the advantages of methanol fuel cells to customers in Poland – for traffic monitoring, telecommunications and security. At Siqens, we are committed to satisfying our customers.
